The following wedding services are available to you, at an additional cost:
THE WEDDING BLESSING
A Christian priest is available to perform a wedding blessing. A legal ceremony in East Africa is regrettably not possible. A notice period of 12-weeks is needed to coordinate the blessing. The fee for the priest is $350 and this does not include travel and accommodation (if required). Kindly be advised that it is only a blessing and not a legally binding wedding and for this reason, the couple will need to be legally married prior to arriving at the relevant lodge.
The documentation that would be required for a blessing in East Africa would be as follows:
Permission from the couples' Parish Priest stating that their wedding may be blessed in East Africa.
A copy of their marriage certificate as the Priest will not bless a marriage that has not yet taken place.
A letter from respective parents giving their blessing of this ceremony.
The couples' vows to each other.
The couple should choose a blessing to be read at the ceremony.
WEDDING FLOWERS
A choice of fresh red or white roses is available for the ceremony - Bride's bouquet, Groom's corsage, gentlemen's buttonholes and dinner table settings. Flowers costs range anywhere from USD 180 to USD 2000 depending on the number of guests at the wedding.
ROSE PETAL CARPET
This exquisite and breathtaking rose petal strewn carpet (Approximately 5m x 3m) makes for a dramatic bridal walkway and entrance at a wedding ceremony. The rose petal carpet is available for the in-camp ceremony only at an additional cost of $1 200.
WEDDING ENTERTAINMENT
Imagine the excitement of a wedding ceremony flanked by the Maasai Guard of Honour of one hundred flame-bearing Maasai warriors and dancing and singing maidens. This emotive and ceremonial Maasai tradition is an option at an additional fee of
$2 000 - which goes directly back into the Maasai community.
Please note: All rates and prices quoted above are valid until 31 December 2008.
